AMF Gates Lanes Review
Feb 26th, 2009Put your family in the car, it’s time to go bowling! If you haven’t taken your kids bowling in a while, or ever for that matter, now is the time to go. Everyone is fed up with this cold and what better way to get them moving than a nice warm bowling alley, with a great atmosphere and delicious food!
I took my kids last week when school was out and they had a ball. Mine are 4 and 6 and they both were able to select their own balls (6 and 7 pounders worked the best) and bowl a pretty decent game with the bumpers up. They had a few friends with them, and they were so engrossed in the game that they never once cried or argued with each other. Now that is my kind of day out with the kids!
We visited AMF Lanes in Gates and it was very clean. My daughter even commented on how good the bathroom smelled, which was a bonus considering we were in and out numerous times. We bowled with seven other kids and each one was having such a great time. They took over telling each other who was up next, watching their scores add up and helping each other out if need be. They didn’t need us parents for anything.
When the fun was over and we had to pay, there was a little line at the register. No need to worry since there are some games up front to keep the little ones busy while you pay. The manager Shirley was taking care of customers and was the nicest person I’ve ever come across in the midst of a very busy day off of school for kids. There were people coming, going and employees asking her questions and she still took her time to help us out with our coupons and paying for our group. We even got coupons for the next time we come in, which is always appreciated these days!
Over all, bowling with the kids was a success. I’d take my whole family back to AMF Lanes again! There are 5 AMF locations in Rochester.
